You can hear the motor

It’s unusually hot to touch

However, the coils are also meant to be insulated, meaning that excessive heat is unusual. Have it checked by a professional. You might just need to replace the coils, or you might need a new refrigerator altogether.

There’s condensation or frost

Your refrigerator shouldn’t be sweating. It also shouldn’t look like it has an iceberg inside of the freezer either. All refrigerators should have the right balance between hot and chilly. There shouldn’t be little droplets of water all over the exterior.

This could be a minor problem that calls for a replacement of the rubber sealing around your refrigerator doors. If you replace the rubber sealing and you still experience condensation or frost in the freezer, consult with a professional.

It’s not working as it should

If your food or drinks take longer than usual to chill or you find that your food is spoiling faster than it should, then we definitely have a problem. Your refrigerator is likely using more energy than usual and in turn would give you high electricity bills. It’s better to invest a lot of money in a new refrigerator then waste a lot of money on spoiled food, expensive bills, or frequent repairs.
