Every now and then, you can flip your mattresses to distribute evenly the parts that receive the pressure from when you sleep. Make sure though that your mattress does not have a pillow top. This is applicable to mattresses with flat and even surface both front and back. You can also ask your manufacturer on how often you should flip it.
- Beds are slept on, not jumped on
You were a kid back then and we all know that one of childhood’s bliss is jumping on beds. This is something that not a lot of beds enjoy. It speeds up the wear and tear of the mattress plus it gathers dirt on the surface that you sleep on.
- Vacuum them regularly
This is common knowledge but we all know that this is something we often do. Mattresses are saviours as much as they are dangerous in terms of gathering dirt. Dusts, skin flakes and dust mites are only some of the things that we don’t actually see but are accumulated within the mattress. Change sheets at least once a week and vacuum mattress once a month.
- Microbes love humid environment
You can prevent this by keeping your room ventilated like opening air passages. Open the door and windows but make sure that it does not do more harm by letting more dust in. If you have extra budget to spare, purchase a dehumidifier as it helps lower down humid levels.

You might say, “Like what?” Teddy bears, plants and pets are commonly found in a room but they collect dusts, microbes and pollen
- It needs sunbathing too
Kill microbes naturally by sun-drying it after laundry. It’s one of those easy things you can do that will make your mattress feel brand new!
