5 Essential Household Appliances for Filipinos

by | Apr 30, 2019 | News

Every household has a set of basic appliances. Even the look of a typical Filipino household has changed as new trends have been adopted over the years. What was once simple has become complex as things such as appliances continue grow in number, become cheaper, and more accessible to the everyday Filipino consumer.

Why is there a growing need for appliances, though? Is it not enough to have just the basics nowadays? Maybe yes, maybe no; the answer varies. Rest assured, there are certain things that are a must have in a household for us Filipinos.

What are those things?

Here are five of them:

1. Rice Cooker

This is the first item on the list simply because of how much we love our rice! If you like your rice cooked right, then a rice cooker is an essential appliance to add to your household. Sure you can just cook your rice the old fashion way, but when there’s such a convenient way to do it then why not?

2. Electric Fan

The easiest way to beat the heat. With the growing cost of electricity, and airconditioning being more of a luxury than a household need, having a couple of electric fans around the house will keep you from sweating up a storm! There’s different options to choose from, such as wall fans and standing floor fans.

3. Refrigerator

An absolute necessity at the present time. There’s no other way for you to keep your food from spoiling without a good fridge. Also, it’s great for keeping your drinks cool for when you’re looking for refreshment throughout the day. A basic fridge will do you good, but there are others out there with some advanced features that might be to your liking.

Take this Panasonic 5.6 cubic feet fridge for example. It comes at a good price point, and the size allows it to fit easily in most homes.

4. Television

Filipinos absolutely love their TVs. How could you watch your favorite soap opera if you didn’t have one? You’d miss out on Cardo Dalisay’s many adventures! But more than that, having a TV in your house will allow you to not just be entertained, but stay up to date with the news. We recommend a standard size of 32 inches if you’re in the market for a TV.

Samsung is a household name, and this 43-inch full HD TV will definitely be a good addition to your home and enhance your viewing experience.

5. Washing Machine

A modern Filipino household should definitely have a washing machine. We have simple ones, but we also have ones that do the entire washing process for you. In a world where time is at a premium, it’s better to have such a time saving appliance when laundry day comes around. Pricier ones are definitely better, but there’s just about different models to suit your budget.

Here is a great fully auto washing machine that you can start with. It takes a full load of up to 7kg and will do all that hard work for you!

And there you have it! Five appliances which are a must have in today’s Filipino household.
